In a recent escalation of conflict, Russian strikes on the northeastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv resulted in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to 15 others, according to regional governor Oleg Synegubov.

Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city and located near the Russian border, has suffered extensive damage from ongoing attacks.

The latest assault marks a continuation of hostilities that have intensified since Russia launched a renewed offensive in the Kharkiv region in May, achieving its most significant territorial gains in 18 months.

Governor Synegubov reported on Telegram that Russian forces targeted a residential building with guided bombs on Saturday afternoon.

“Initial reports from emergency medical teams indicate that two people have been killed,” he stated. “The number of wounded from the occupier’s strikes has risen to 15.”
