Philip Shaibu has officially resumed his duties as the Deputy Governor of Edo State and has instructed his staff to return to their roles immediately.
In a video broadcast on Monday, Shaibu warned banks against engaging in any transactions with the Office of the Deputy Governor without his direct authorization, emphasizing the illegality of such actions.
Shaibu also addressed those who had not resumed work since his “reinstatement,” urging them to do so promptly or face repercussions. He referenced a Federal High Court judgment that confirmed his position, asserting that his office was never vacant.
Additionally, Shaibu expressed his sorrow over the recent killing of a police officer attached to the Edo APC governorship candidate for the upcoming election.
The incident occurred upon his return to Edo State after the court’s decision. Shaibu mentioned that suspects have been apprehended in connection with the case.
He also revealed that he had formally requested the state governor’s approval for the reinstatement of his aides but had not yet received a response.
