JAMB to set 2024 admissions cut-off marks on July 18

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it will hold its annual policy meeting on July 18 to determine the cut-off marks for the 2024 admissions cycle.

In its weekly bulletin released on Monday, JAMB stated that the meeting will be chaired by the Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman, and will include key stakeholders from the education sector.

“These critical stakeholders include Heads of regulatory agencies such as the National University Commission (NUC), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), National Council for Colleges of Education (NCCE), Heads of tertiary institutions in the country, and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), among others,” the bulletin noted.

During the meeting, JAMB Registrar Ishaq Oloyede will present reports on the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) admissions. Additionally, the meeting will review candidates’ performances in the 2024 UTME, which was conducted in April.

This policy meeting is a significant event in Nigeria’s education calendar as it sets the benchmarks for university admissions, influencing the prospects of thousands of students nationwide.
