President Bola Tinubu has appointed Badamasi Lawal as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), following the suspension of the former CEO, Halima Shehu, over alleged financial malfeasance.
Announced on Tuesday by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s decision aims to enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian and social development programmes.
In addition to Lawal’s appointment, the President named several other heads for key agencies under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development. These include:
– Funmilola Olotu as Programme Manager, National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office
– Aishat Alubankudi as Programme Manager, Grant for Vulnerable Groups
– Princess Aderemi Adebowale as Programme Manager, Home Grown School Feeding
– Abdullahi Alhassan Imam as Programme Manager, National Cash Transfer Office
– Ayuba Gufwan as Executive Secretary, National Commission for People with Disabilities
– Lami Binta Adamu Bello as Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons
The President expects these new leaders to perform their duties with integrity and diligence, ensuring that vulnerable groups benefit directly from the administration’s reconfigured welfare programmes.
